Effective date: September 2026
This policy explains what personal information Marino Marks collects through marinomarks.com, how it is used, and the choices you have. Marino Marks is a sole proprietorship based in Ontario, Canada, operated by Marino Marks, who is responsible for the personal information described here.
We collect only what we need to send you the resources you ask for and to run this website. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
If you have any question about this policy or your information, contact us at hello@marinomarks.com.
What information we collect
We collect two kinds of information: what you give us directly, and limited technical data collected automatically when you visit the site.
Information you give us
- Email address and first name, when you request the free guide or subscribe to the Bring Them Back newsletter.
- Anything you include in a message, if you contact us by email.
- Survey or feedback responses, if you choose to answer one we send.
Information collected automatically
- Website usage data, such as pages visited, time on page, approximate location (city or region level), device type, browser, and the site that referred you. This comes from Google Analytics.
- Email engagement data, such as whether a newsletter email was opened and which links were clicked. This comes from our email platform.
We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive information such as health, financial, or government identification details.
How we use your information and your consent
We use your information only for the purposes below, and we ask for your consent when you sign up.
- To deliver what you requested, such as the free guide.
- To send the Bring Them Back newsletter, which includes practical retention ideas and, from time to time, information about our own products and services.
- To improve the website and our content, using aggregated analytics and email engagement data.
- To reply to your messages and requests.
When you request the free guide, the signup form states clearly that you are also subscribing to the newsletter. By submitting the form, you give your express consent to receive these emails. Every email identifies the sender, includes our contact information, and has an unsubscribe link.
We will not use your information for a new purpose without first asking for your consent, unless the law requires or permits it.
Service providers and where your information is processed
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run this website and newsletter. They process your information on our behalf and only for the purposes described in this policy.
| Provider | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Klavyio | Stores the subscriber list and sends the guide and newsletter | Name, email address, email engagement data |
| Google Analytics (Google LLC) | Measures website traffic and usage | Website usage data via cookies |
| Payhip | Processes purchases of digital products, if you buy one | Name, email address, purchase details (payment card details are handled by the payment processor) |
Some of these providers are located outside Canada, including in the United States. Your information may therefore be stored or processed in those countries. While there, it is subject to their laws and may be accessed by their courts, law enforcement, or national security authorities.
We remain responsible for your information when it is processed by these providers, and we choose providers that apply reasonable security safeguards.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses cookies, which are small files stored in your browser, for two purposes: making the site work and measuring how it is used.
- Essential cookies are set by WordPress and our site tools so pages load and forms work properly.
- Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics to show us, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how people find the site. We do not use this data to identify you personally, and we do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across websites by installing Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
How long we keep it, how we protect it, and your choices
Retention. We keep your email address while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending emails right away and delete or anonymize your details within a reasonable period, keeping only a record of the unsubscribe so we do not email you again. Google Analytics data is kept for the period set in our analytics settings. Purchase records are kept as long as tax law requires.
Security. We use reputable providers, strong passwords, and two-factor authentication on our accounts, and we limit access to personal information to what is necessary. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights. You can:
- Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. We process unsubscribe requests within 10 business days, as Canadian anti-spam law requires.
- Ask what information we hold about you, and receive a copy.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
- Withdraw your consent and ask us to delete your information.
To make a request, email hello@marinomarks.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This website and newsletter are intended for business owners and are not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our tools or practices change. The effective date at the top shows when it was last updated. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
